What are the biggest challenges that real estate brokers face in 2008? Here are a couple that I feel the broker’s will have:
“Down Market” - Broker’s have to find new and creative ways to work in what most consider a down market.

“Recruiting Agents” - I think that this is always a challenge because if you are not moving forward, where are you going?
“Retaining Agents” - Some agents are leaving the business and others are just looking for companies that offer more.
“Building an Internet Presence” - Now more then ever real estate professionals have to make themselves available on the web.
Good points! Perseverance goes a long way in a down market. A lot of real estate agents quit, but many will survive well. The real estate boom has attracted a lot of folks who thought this was the place to make a quick buck or two. These folks shouldn’t be in this business in the first place. Plus they don’t have the know-how on how to ride out the storm.
I totally agree with you. I think one other means of survival will be what level of Tech they have and implementing it into their business. The old way of doing business I think is coming to an end
The biggest challenge I had in 2007, continues to be the plague so far in 2008:
Incompetent part timer agents that are so unfamiliar with protocols and their job, that they do nothing but impede every other person’s ability to get a deal done.
Really frustrating to hear “Well, real estate isn’t my real job - so I didn’t know” after having to waste my time educating them on how to do their job.
What other challanges are people experienceing in 2008, or for that matter, any other previous year in the housing buying/selling market?
Let your voice be heard!
